Be prepared to be wowed as we open our new pre-show dining experience in The Prop Store, the latest theatre space to receive a glamorous makeover. The wonderful upgrade of the community space has taken several months and includes generous donations received from regular theatre goers and local groups in the form of sparkly costumes, vintage trinkets, recycled furniture, antique musical instruments, classic sporting objects and a raft of glitter-covered memorabilia, as well as the theatre’s very own supply of dramatic props, revamped mirrors and attractive items of staging from its basement archive and now on permanent display.

The refurbished Prop Store, which was originally a dance studio, now houses an exotic drinks bar with stylish upcycled dining furniture and an attractive array of table setting vignettes creating a unique and cosy atmosphere for evening shows throughout the year. Maureen McAllister, Operations Director says “Often when people come to the theatre they’re keen to see what goes on behind the scenes and we’re delighted to bring the backstage experience to them now, when they dine with us”.

Audiences coming for a pre-show supper and drinks during the Bijou Theatre Productions’ adaptation of Agatha Christie’s The Hollow this summer will be the first to enjoy The Prop Store setting and can choose from a wide selection of delicious hot and cold dishes including the Palace Platter (cold meats, cheeses, salad, breads). To see the full range of dining options available, which must be pre-ordered at time of booking show tickets please contact the Palace Theatre box office on 01803 665800. As well as The Prop Store, the theatre café bar is now open on weekdays only from 11am-3pm offering light lunches, snacks and hot and cold drinks. whilst Stage Left also hosts regular afternoon tea experiences including murder mystery productions and musical performances by local and emerging talent.
