We have a delightful Christmas tree outside the theatre this year thanks to Councillor Steve Darling, Chair of Paignton Chamber Sally Cope and Paignton resident Jane Peachy. Jane’s lovely tree needed to be removed for renovations and, as it was a fine Nordmann fir, she contacted the Council to see if there could be any use for it. A few phone calls and it was agreed that the theatre would be the perfect location.
But how to get it to the Palace?
Enter Philip Makepeace of Acorn Tree Care, husband of theatre director Deirdre, who brought his trusty truck and chainsaw, joined by the tree team of Clive and Paul. A tree surgeon and two paramedics – what could possibly go wrong? Nothing of course and now, with help from Matt, an extra member of the Christmas tree team, in place at the theatre steps spreading sparkle all over Palace Avenue.
A huge thank you to all concerned.
