SUMMARY:Agatha Christie's Spider's Web
DESCRIPTION:This is another thrilling tale from the pen of the Queen of Crime Agatha Christie. \nFull of Red Herrings and sub plots just what one would expect. \nClarissa is the wife of a diplomat.  She is very clever at spinning tales of adventure but when a murder takes place in her drawing room she finds live drama harder to cope with.  Desperate to dispose of the body before her husband arrives with an important politician she enlists the help of her house guests. There are some very amusing moments when they are interrupted by the arrival of Inspector Lord. \nAgatha does not disappoint this play delivers suspense drama and humour. There is tension and laughter in equal parts in an intricate plot of murder\, police\, drug addicts\, hidden doorways\, invisible ink and secret drawers. \nPurchase your programme in advance (£2) and why not book for a pre-performance meal? Summer buffet (£10) or cream tea (£5) available.

SUMMARY:Screening of a rehearsed reading of Suspicions by N J Crisp
DESCRIPTION:This is the Palace Theatre’s first digital production\, working with Bijou Theatre Productions\, this rehearsed reading was filmed by the technical team – Clive Simmons and Ryan Gardner in April 2021. \nWe are delighted that we will be able to screen this film in the theatre on 18 May and we would be delighted if you could join us. \nTickets are free\, however\, a donation is welcome. \nBill announces to his friend and lover\, Lucy\, that he and his wife\, Kate\, have decided to separate. The future looks rosy until Lucy’s husband arrives and begins to plant seeds of suspicion in Lucy’s mind concerning Kate’s sudden disappearance. Suddenly the large chest freezer and Kate’s abandoned car gain significance until the flamboyant entrance of Kate herself destroys the theory of Bill as a murderer. However\, as accusations fly and recriminations grow\, speculation turns quickly into reality.

SUMMARY:Sadly cancelled: Buttons - The one man family panto!
DESCRIPTION:We are so sorry to tell you that Buttons is sadly cancelled.  Tom Binns\, our performer\, advised us last night that his children had developed coughs and he needed to get the whole family tested; whilst Tom feels this is nothing more than a cough\, and the test results will be negative\, he is doing the right thing for himself\, his family and us.  We all decided that it is kinder to you to cancel the performance now\, rather than wait for a few more days and be forced to cancel at shorter notice if the results are either delayed or return a positive test. \nWe are so very sorry to have to advise you of this cancellation\, but as we are sure you understand\, we want to keep everyone safe\, we don’t want to take any unnecessary risks and we want to make sure that we are able to communicate changes with you as soon as possible. \nThis is another blow to our lovely theatre\, we were hoping to have a small celebration to see the end of 2020\, and welcome 2021\, with some of our wonderful audiences\, now we will be raising our glasses from our own homes and keeping our fingers crossed for a better 2021.  We wish you the very best and look forward to seeing you in 2021. \nPlease do support the Palace Theatre Paignton by donating here https://gofund.me/4ac38a6b \n______ \nDespite the difficulties facing theatre this year one man is single handedly trying to keep the magic of Panto alive. \nSheffield comedian Tom Binns aka Hospital DJ Ivan Brackenbury who earlier in the year converted his van into the worlds first the pop up mobile comedy club has now written and produced  ‘Buttons – the one-man pantomime’ (He will also play Buttons) \nTen minutes into what should have been Cinderella\, Buttons realises he’s on his own as the rest of the cast have been furloughed. (He missed the memo cause hadn’t bothered to go to the rehearsals).  The star-studded cast from the cancelled panto (kids will know them from CBBC) make a surprise appearance on video call but Buttons is left to carry the show. \nTurns out Buttons has got a bit complacent of late and has lost the magic of Panto but with the help of his Fairy God Mentor\, played by Bernie Clifton\, he rediscovers the magic just in time for a happy ending. \nIn a case of life imitating art\, Bernie Clifton has been mentoring Tom in real life and has even allowed him to do the Panto routines he was hoping to do himself this Christmas. \n“This is a dream come true for me” says Binns “or it would be if only my dreams were this amazing\, weird and specific.” \nPerformances are 1 hour\, and are at 1500\, 1700 and 1900.  The 1900 performance includes a glass of fizz and canapes\, to help you see the New Year in\, a few hours early! \n
