No partner required. Suitable for beginners as well as those with some dance experience. Each class will focus on a new dance and is a fun and interactive way of learning to dance from one of the best. \n11.30am to 12.30pm\, £17 per person per class \n \nFootwear: Please wear a trainer type shoe or plimsoll for a 5 minute warm up at the start of the class. A shoe with a small Cuban style heel can be worn for the remainder of the class. Sandals or overly chunky trainers are not suitable.

Sessions will include sharing work\, discussion\, writing exercises and suggested topics and will be supported with some taught elements and printed handouts\, designed to extend skills and knowledge. DESCRIPTION:A concert of popular and lesser known songs and choruses taken from many of the thirteen light operas written and devised by Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert and performed by The Gilbert and Sullivan Society (Torbay).  The programme will include the hilarious One Act Opera “Trial by Jury” and will be directed by Mr. Bob Carter. \nSPRING IS IN THE AIR! \nThis is a light hearted concert of popular and varied songs and choruses taken from many of the thirteen light operas written and devised by Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert. It will be performed by the chorus and soloists of The Gilbert & Sullivan Society (Torbay)  – a rare opportunity to hear G&S music in Torbay.. \nIt includes the hilarious One Act Opera “Trial by Jury” and will be directed by Mr. Bob Carter with Jenny Abbott\, Neal Carter-Lewis and Tom Mills among the soloists\, all accompanied on the grand piano by Miss Sheena Strachan. \nThe G & S Society (Torbay) celebrates its Golden Anniversary this year and is proud to bring G & S back to Paignton where it was performed for many years\, dating right back to the first production of the famous “Pirates of Penzance” in 1879.  The glorious music and amusing lyrics have stood the test of time very well and still provide wonderful entertainment to many people throughout the world. It is hoped everyone will have a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining experience on this Spring afternoon and will seek out more G & S in the bay in the years to come.

DESCRIPTION:Join speaker\, David Hinchliffe for an entertaining morning. \nDuring the late 19th and early 20th century the streets of our towns and cities saw the introduction of fountains and troughs supplying free and clean drinking water for people and animals alike. Torquay was in its heyday\, with many famous\, wealthy and intellectual residents\, philanthropy was at its peak\, and fountains often took on ornamental forms. Although now largely forgotten and neglected\, our surviving fountains tell a story of our social history\, and add to the interest of our streetscapes.  In this talk David Hinchliffe explores the story of our fountains\, including what is known of the many we have lost.
