Sadly one of the cast was taken ill tonight at the performance of Crown Matrimonial and we were left with no alternative than to close the show immediately.  We have taken medical advice we have been advised that this cast member will not be able to perform for the rest of this run. Due to her central role, the performance cannot go ahead without her and we do not have time to find a replacement who would be able to step into that role.

Faced with all of these challenges, we regrettably will have to cancel tomorrow night’s performance.  We will issue refunds to you, or we will transfer your tickets to the next Bijou performance which is Dead Guilty in February, or we can offer vouchers for another show.

I am sure you will want to join us in wishing the leading lady a speedy recovery.

Best, Bijou Theatre Productions …Wendy, Gill and Andrew (Director)

The fascinating story of Edward VIII’s abdication. Set in Marlborough House between 1936 and 1945, this powerful play focuses on the private family drama of Edward VIII and the Royal Family leading up to the abdication. An engrossing and moving study of both a major constitutional crisis and an overwhelming issue of private and public conflict.

“A gripping and often moving insight into comparatively recent history.” [The Stage]

Please note that Crown Matrimonial will run from Wednesday 24 – Friday 26 NOVEMBER, there will be no Saturday evening performance.
