Starting this October, we’ll be hosting a new series of monthly daytime talks on fascinating themes such as local history, the arts, and the world of theatre entertainment delivered by popular local speakers, historians and enthusiasts with a wealth of knowledge.  There’ll be interesting topics such as Clarkson Rose and Fifty Years of Seaside Entertainment, and lots of hair-raising stories about filming with the BBC and for children’s popular TV programme, Blue Peter.

Our ‘Audience at the Palace’ series will start on Thursday 10 October at 1030am with local speaker, Chris Nicholls who will be talking about Winnaretta Singer, Oldway Mansion’s bohemian ‘Dollar Princess’.

Torbay’s oldest working theatre remains at the centre of the local community, providing family-friendly entertainment and our ‘Audience at the Palace’ talks will appeal to all ages.  Why stay at home during the autumn and winter months? Join us at the theatre, have a hot drink, socialise with friends, learn a few interesting facts on the topic of the day or simply come along to be entertained and to forget about the changing seasons.

The talks are just £5 each (including a hot drink), and if you buy tickets for 5 talks you’ll get the 6th talk free.

We love to receive feedback from our customers so do let us know what else you would like to see at your local community theatre.  We’ve created this series of talks based on requests from our customers and with support from the South Devon and Torbay Community Grants Fund.
