On 1 May 2019 Jazz Hands celebrated its first year managing and operating the Palace Theatre, and what a fabulous year it has been.

We have welcomed new faces and regular performers, we’ve laughed, sung and danced, we’ve listened to some exceptional stories, we’ve had a tiger come to tea, and we’ve enjoyed exceptional opera, drama and comedy – we’ve met our heart throbs and made some more.  We’ve managed a number of sell out performances, expanded our programme and ‘oh yes we have’, entertained audiences with another fabulous Pantomime. We’ve also applauded the winners as the cups, trophies and certificates are handed out at our annual dance festival.

We’ve also managed to make some key improvements to the theatre, in between selling ice creams, booking performers and offering the warmest welcome to our customers.  The box office has been moved into the bar, creating a much better space in the entrance area and more room for our customers; an office has been built at the top of the stairs and new doors have been installed, making the lobby area so much brighter.

On the subject of lights, we’ve installed coloured lights in the windows which give an added dimension to our shows – red, white and blue for the Barricade Boys, and orange for the Tiger, when he came to tea.

Most of all we have had fun, we’ve worked hard and we’ve managed to deliver great service to our customers and our performers, which we are extremely proud of. We have also made plans for the future and have many new ideas to launch over the coming months, so do watch this space.

The English Riviera BID Company wrote a lovely blog about our achievements in the first year, and when we announced our anniversary on our social channels, we were so touched with the many lovely comments we received from our customers and the performers we welcome here, that we’d thought we’d share them with you too.

Thank you for your support.
