A Murder is Announced, 5 JUNE – 26 JULY: This is Christie at her best and also has the wonderful Miss Marple as the central character. An announcement in the local paper states the time and place where a murder is to occur. The interesting thing is that the victim is a stranger and not one of the many people who visit Miss Blacklock regularly or live in the house.
Lest We Forget: Wednesdays in August
A commemorative show to mark 100 years since the end of World War One. A show filled with songs, dancing, poems and reflection. Join this fantastic cast as they take you for a right royal knees up, whilst remembering the sacrifices made to win the war. With songs such as ‘pack up your troubles’, ‘for me and my gal’ and ‘boiled beef and carrots’, you’ll be tapping your feet to victory.
Cinderella – Summer Panto: Thursdays in August
Get swept away by one of the most enchanting fairy tales of all time, as we bring to life the most loved pantomime of them all – Cinderella. This classic rags to riches story tells us of beautiful young girl who is cruelly treated by her jealous Ugly Step-sisters. If she’s to meet her Prince Charming and find true love before the clock strikes midnight, she’ll need all the magic her Fairy Godmother can muster up, along with the help from her best friend Buttons. Will Cinderella get her fairy tale ending? Book your tickets before the clock strikes midnight to find out!
2 amazing bands! Bert Miller and the Animal Folk and the famous Cornish busking band Phat Bollard. Another night of music brought to you by order of the Peaky Blinders. Bert Miller and the Animal Folk are high energy and raucous but a quick change exposes their carefully crafted compositions. Phat Bollard are an ‘awesome’ travelling Cornish busking band so together this will be a night packed with excellent music. Look out for their Facebook pages and you’ll get the picture.
The Beach Boys Story: Friday 10 August
Come join the fun and ride the wave of adrenaline and nostalgia that will sweep you from surf to sun and from hit to hit. If you like the Beach Boys songs, you will love this band! This is a show that is guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face, with a song in your heart and reflecting on a truly memorable live music experience.  You will be amazed by the 100% live, the complex orchestral arrangements and intricate harmonies that made the Beach Boys America’s biggest ever pop group.  “I’ve seen the real Beach Boys three times and actually… these guys are better!”
The Vera Lynn Story: Tuesday 21 August
Experience Dame Vera Lynn’s remarkable story from her performance debut at the age of seven to her incredible wartime popularity as the original ‘Forces’ Sweetheart’. In this authentic stage biography, Samantha takes the role of Dame Vera beautifully capturing her warmth and spirit and singing her most famous songs, accompanied by talented pianist, James Hall.
Sounds Like the Seekers: Friday 24 August
Come along and experience again the joyful sound of The Seekers … the carnival isn’t over! In 1963 Judith Durham, a shy young Australian jazz singer, joined Keith, Bruce and Athol to form The Seekers. Within a year they were one of the biggest selling bands in the world.
The Bluejays are your hosts for an electrifying and authentic tribute to the era when music changed the world – the 1950s. Formed in 2013, after years of performing together in West End rock ‘n’ roll theatre shows such as ‘Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story’, ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ and ‘Dreamboats & Petticoats, their brand new show Rock and Roll Revolution guaranteed to have audiences of all ages up and dancing all evening.
Pull on your neon and dust off your shoulder pads – the Zoots are coming to Paignton to celebrate the music of the 80s. They’ll keep you Hungry Like The Wolf, as they play the floorfillers, party anthems, classic pop and power ballads that were Top Of The Pops, from the acts that mattered. Totally Zootastic!
